Why? To Inspire!

7/7/2019

Reflecting upon my why, I feel there are probably many possible versions of my why.  First is to better myself by advancing my own education.  Secondly, I want to be able to find better ways to reach my students as classrooms and education continue to change.  Lastly, I want to be able to incorporate more technology in my classroom effectively and meaningfully.  These are only a few versions of my “why.”

Throughout this first course in the DLL program, I have learned a lot of new ideas and really enjoyed everything.  Getting used to having an ePortfolio will take time and adjustment but continuing to add to it will be beneficial even beyond the program.  The ePortfolio can be used as a networking tool. The COVA learning approach, while new to me in name, is an approach I found I use often with my students on various projects.  I like for them to have a choice in how they present a project, which musician they would like to learn more about, and even which songs they would like to learn.  By having that choice and voice in selection, they begin to feel ownership, confidence and motivation to learn.  Learning more strategies to implement the COVA model is the most valuable lesson I have learned and I’m looking forward to better implementation next school year.
