Schoology Course Design Part 1

While learning a new LMS system and trying to build a completely online course for my students to use, I have come to realize how challenging this will be with my current students.  Simple projects that I may have used in the past, typically have not worked with this group of new students.  Some of this I believe is because of limited access to technology and resources and some is an effect of a trauma-based area.  So with that in mind, I have tried to find a wide variety of resources that will help to introduce basic musical concepts, resources that will allow the students to practice these concepts and check for understanding, and even more resources to allow them to create their own songs and music videos.  I have taken my previous BHAG/3 column table and added a fourth column displaying these resources.  It is my goal to also create checkpoints using Google Forms and weekly objectives using Google Slides for the students to know exactly what is expected from them.  Many of the practice quizzes/games on musictechteacher.com can be used as quiz grades.

Students currently do not have access to webcams or microphones on their school chromebooks so weekly online classes would have to be done through chat for them to ask questions.  They are also not permitted to take these devices home where many do not have anything.  As this course is geared towards choir students, they will be able to use their school devices each morning at school in order to complete their daily tasks.  Daily practice of music concepts is expected with quiz results submitted.  If access to iPads is available, students will be able to use iMovie, Rhythm Cat, GarageBand and other OS platform apps.
